Nonlinear treatment of atmospheric flow around an irregularity of arbitrary profile on the earth's surface

Annotation

A new method is described for constructing the solution for flow around an arbi­ trary profile. The effects of profile features at the lower boundary on the solu­ tion of the two-dimensional steady-state problem of lee waves are studied. An actual mountain profile is obtained, and the field of stream functions is plotted in dimensionless form. This particular solution is analyzed.
