The influence of electrodynamic and geometrical characteristics of a biological object on the distribution of a scattered electromagnetic field has been studied by the waveguide electromagnetic probing method. The diffraction of the wave $H_{10}$ on the dielectric inhomogeneity simulating a biological object has been considered. The corresponding boundary problem for the Helmholtz equation has been solved by the method of integral equations with analytical regularization of its kernel.
