By a method based on examining the analytical properties of Laplace images of wave functions, the discrete spectrum of the radial Schr$\stackrel{..}{o}$dinger equation with an arbitrary attractive potential is determined. With the use of the new approach, the problem is reduced to approximately finding the roots of the characteristic equation corresponding to an infinite system of linear algebraic equations.
