Using session breaks in the IP networks as an example, a qualitative phase portrait of an ordinary second-order differential equation has been studied. Explicit dependences $P_L$ vs. $\lambda$, at which the session break takes place, have been theoretically and experimentally considered. The ways of eliminating these difficulties have been suggested.
