Recent ecological disasters and cataclysms, such as drought, fires, heavy rains and spring fioods-induced inundation in different regions of the Earth are more and more often attributed to the unpredictable and little-studied El Niňo phenomenon. Although the processes involved in the El Niňo phenomenon are regional, their effects are nevertheless global.
