The characteristics of a $YAG:Nd^{3+}$ double-wave solid-state laser with monochromatic pumping were studied. Highly stable double-wave lasing was obtained at wavelengths $\lambda_1$ = 1.064 $\mu$m and $\lambda_2$ = 1.318 $\mu$m when a nonlinear-loss element was introduced into the cavity. It was shown that the intensity of generated waves can be controlled by changing the temperature of the active element.
