In the modern view, Elbrus is a dormant volcano, whose geological structure should comprise a magma source and a magma chamber. Analysis of data on the Earth's crust deformations obtained using a Baksan laser interferometer from the Sternberg State Institute of Astronomy revealed characteristic frequencies that may be associated with the resonance features of the Elbrus volcano magma source.
